Jean was born in Bristol and studied at West of England College of Art. She worked in fashion advertising in Bristol and London and for many years taught drawing and painting in adult education at Somerset College of Art & Technology.

“My preferred mediums are oils or watercolour and I am particularly interested in painting people going about their everyday life. My main motivation is colour.”
