Kay graduated from Bath Spa University in 2004 with a 2:1 in Fine Art (painting). Since then she has worked from her studio at Shave Farm, South Brewham, Somerset.

“I use the body as a base on which to explore line and colour. I collect photographs and steal shapes. The form becomes a landscape, a surface. It changes and moves as paint is applied, rubbed, smudged and sometimes removed. The essence of the person is always on my mind, as the narratives that accompany the paintings are reflected in the marks I make.”
